The Wedding Shoe

If you want a more vintage look, try a white, red or black heeled boot that rises just below the insertion of your calf muscle.

Don’t go too high or chunky, this will cause your feet to ache and your legs to tire, be kind to your feet, they have a long day ahead of them.
The possibilities really are endless with what you can wear for show, with your dress. Unless you are a total rock chic or want a very casual look, avoid shooties and booties, they don’t work so will with a wedding gown.

Golden boots for a flashy flair Wear your favourite shoe. If you’re after ultimate comfort try a colorful sneaker or maybe a ballet slipper or flat.

Another idea you may want to consider for your guests is slippers or sandals, that they can change into to ensure they are comfortable and can party it up with you through the night. There are many sites on the internet that offer cheap bulk sandals or slippers that you can had out or place in a basket for your guests to pick up. They work great for gifting to out of town guests, especially in the summer months.

Gone are the days when a celebrity dresses a white satin or silver shoe. The gown you wear expresses you style and helps to accentuate her best features, but the shoes are often hidden beneath a cascade of satin and chiffon. For the bride who wants to add flair to her traditional gown, why not add a funky shoe. Pick a white shoe with a red sole for a touch of color or wear a red shoe. Are you into rock and want to be a little bit eccentric, why not wear a boot or maybe a shoe like an Ed Hardy. Love color, but don’t want to over do it? How about a laced boot or heel with ribbon ties that you can change the lacing or ribbon to any color you choose.

Remember that if you are going with a open-toed shoe you may want to consider getting a pedicure or giving yourself one. Have a bridal “primping party” with your female attendants and do foot soaks, massages and pedis. It’s a great bonding experience and you can do it at home. Research sites for recipes on great,
moisturizing, relaxing foot soaks and scrubs. Get a callus/foot file and smooth your feet. Get them good and moisturized and paint your toes. A clear glossy polish will give you a great finished look. It will help you and the ladies relax too. Make sure you are not wearing an ill fitting shoe, this can lead to big blisters and aching feet.

To conclude, don’t fear color, even with the most classic style dress. The shoe you wear can add flare and put your own personality or spin on your look.
Have fun and enjoy your day!
